ABOUT

I’m a writer and editor originally from Virginia, now based in Los Angeles. I currently work as a Teaching Associate at UCLA, where I’m a third year PhD student in Cinema & Media Studies.

I previously worked for Healthline as an Associate Editor, and as a staff writer for Psych Central covering issues related to LGBTQ health and identity, mood disorders, and more. My freelance bylines include VICE, Salon, and Bitch Magazine. I’ve also been an indie bookseller, a theatre office assistant, and a production intern at The Colbert Report (among other eclectic jobs).

As a trans advocate, I’ve presented at schools, hospitals, and conferences, including for True Colors, Wesleyan, Yale, Fenway Health, APA, and NASW. My advocacy centered around about humanizing trans people in healthcare, and addressing inter-family conflict over a transition.
